LED Headlight Description (If Equipped)

Headlight is composed of LED for low beam and halogen light for high beam. The main components of LED headlight are LED, reflector, heat sink and LED control module, and has the following features.
•With LED headlight, the light emission is dispersed evenly compared with discharge headlight. Further, the brightness of LED is similar to the sunlight and illuminates frontward brightly.
•LED does not have arc tube unlike discharge headlight and the useful life is long without deterioration affected by ON/OFF switching. Further, LED maintains stable luminance for long period and has advantage for maintenance too.

LED Headlight Control System
When LED control module (1) supplies electric current to LED (2), the LED emits light toward reflector (3) and reflected light off the reflector illuminates ahead of the vehicle.
Through this mechanism, the light from each light source in LED is reflected twice and passing through a projector lens (4), high distribution of luminous intensity is obtained.
As LED is not provided with arc tube, the heat generation is much smaller than discharge headlight, therefore downsizing of heat sink (5) has been realized.
LED Control Module
•LED control module controls switching on and off of LED. With lighting switch ON (AUTO / Headlight), specified electric current is supplied to low beam light source i.e. LED and stable state of the lighting is obtained instantaneously. Further, the control module stabilizes the electric current to restrict luminance flickering.
•Open circuit detecting circuit is incorporated in LED control module. When any abnormality is detected in LED circuit, trouble signal is transmitted to headlight auto leveling control module.

Self-Diagnosis Function
When LED and/or LED control module malfunctions, LED headlight warning light (1) in the combination meter comes on to warn the driver of the trouble.
