Speed Limiter System Construction
Precautions: Precautions for Diagnosing Trouble · General safety (00)
Speed limiter system is of a system to control the vehicle speed not to exceed maximum speed which is set by the driver within the vehicle speed of 30 to 210 km/h (20 to 130 mile/h).
The system mainly consists of electric throttle body assembly (M16A model / K14C model) or fuel injectors (D16AA model), APP sensor, ECM, cruise control switches (LIMIT switch, SET/– switch, RES/+ switch and CANCEL switch), etc.
Speed Limiter Function
While speed limiter system is functioning, the maximum speed is indicated in the information display and, when accelerator pedal is depressed, the system controls vehicle speed not to exceed the preset maximum speed by electric throttle valve opening (M16A model / K14C model) or fuel injection (D16AA model).
Warning Function
If vehicle speed exceeds the preset maximum speed at downhill driving etc., the maximum speed indication in the information display blinks and warning buzzer sounds intermittently.
Temporary Canceling Function
If accelerator pedal is depressed quickly and deeply, the system intermits the speed control and vehicle speed changes depending on accelerator pedal operation even above the preset maximum speed, and the maximum speed indication in the information display blinks and warning buzzer sounds once.
The system keeps the intermittent speed control until the vehicle speed becomes lower than the preset maximum speed.
