INSPECTION

1. INSTALL STEERING LOCK OPERATION

(a) Check that the steering look mechanism operates properly.

(b) If necessary, replace the key cylinder.

(1) Place the ignition key at the ACC position.

(2) Using a screwdriver, push down the stop pin of the cylinder, and pull out the key cylinder.

(3) Install a new cylinder.

HINT:

Make sure the key is at the ACC position.

2. INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH

(a) Inspect ignition switch 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; 2UZ-FE STARTING: IGNITION SWITCH: ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION .

3. INSPECT KEY UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH

(a) Inspect key unlock warning switch 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; ENGINE IMMOBILISER: UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH: INSPECTION .

4. INSPECT KEY INTER LOCK SOLENOID

(a) Inspect key inter lock solenoid 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; A750F AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: SHIFT LOCK SYSTEM: INSPECTION .

5. INSPECT TRANSPONDER KEY COIL

(a) Inspect transponder key coil 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; ENGINE IMMOBILISER: UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH: INSPECTION .

6. INSPECT BEARING UPPER

(a) Check the bearing rotation condition and check for abnormal noise.

If the bearing is worn or damaged, replace the column upper tube.

(b) Coat the bearing with molybdenum disulfide lithium base grease.

7. INSPECT BEARING LOWER

(a) Check the bearing rotation condition of the main shaft assembly and check for abnormal noise.

If necessary, replace bearing.

(b) Coat the bearing with molybdenum disulfide lithium base grease.
