REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. DISCONNECT WATER HOSES FROM HEATER RADIATOR PIPES

(a) Using pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to detach the water hose.
|
|
(b) Disconnect the water hoses from the heater radiator pipes.
HINT:
Collect the engine coolant in a container.
|
(1) At the time of installation, refer to the following items.
HINT:
-
Push the water hose onto the heater radiator pipe to the second ridge on the pipe.

Install a hose clip in the position as shown in the illustration.

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a)
Remove the instrument panel safety pad
.
4. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL REINFORCEMENT ASSEMBLY
5.
REMOVE FRONT COOLING UNIT
6. REMOVE LOWER DEFROSTER NOZZLE

(a) Remove the lower defroster nozzle.
|
|
7. REMOVE HEATER UNIT
|
(a) Disconnect the connector.
|
|
(b) Remove the 4 nuts and heater unit.
|
