ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE HEATER RELAY

(a) Remove the heater main relay from the engine room relay block.

3. CHECK HEATER RELAY (Marking: HTR)

(a) Check the continuity of the relay.

Standard resistance:

Condition

10 kΩor higher

3 - 5

Below 1 Ω

Apply B+ between

terminals 1 and 2

3 - 4

Below 1 Ω

3 - 5

10 kΩor higher

If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

4. INSTALL HEATER RELAY

5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION .

NOTICE:

Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
