REMOVAL

CAUTION:

Be sure to read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 - 01/2006]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: AIRBAG SYSTEM: PRECAUTION .

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE STEERING PAD ASSEMBLY 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM: STEERING PAD: REMOVAL+

3. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH

5. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL+

8. REMOVE NO. 1 LOWER PANEL 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL+

9. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER 2006 MY Land Cruiser [05/2005 -        ]; STEERING COLUMN: STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL+

10. REMOVE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connectors from the spiral cable.

NOTICE:

When handling the airbag connector, do not damage the airbag wire harness.

(b) Remove the 4 screws and spiral cable.
