ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

HINT:

The rear heater relay is built in the engine room junction block. Since the relay is constructed with a relay block that is in the junction block as a unit, it is impossible to disconnect the wire harness connecting with the relay block. If the relay has a malfunction, replace it with the junction block assembly wire harness together.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. DISCONNECT ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK

(a) Disconnect the relay block from the vehicle body.

3. CHECK ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK (RR HTR RELAY)

Standard resistance:

Condition

Apply B+ between

terminals 50 and 57

Below 1 Ω

If the result is not as specified, replace the engine room relay block.

4. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK

5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

(a) Perform initialization 2007 MY Land Cruiser [08/2006 -        ]; INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION .

NOTICE:

Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
