B18DE-POWER LIFTGATE HANDLE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW

- When Monitored:
Whenever the Power Liftgate Module is awake.
- Set Condition:
When the Power Liftgate Module senses a voltage of less than 2.0 volts on the Liftgate Handle Switch Sense circuit for longer than 20 seconds this code will set.

Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENTWith the scan tool, record DTCs.
Erase DTCs
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the liftgate several times.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B18DE–POWER LIFTGATE HANDLE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
2. LIFTGATE HANDLE SWITCH SHORTED
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Latch harness connector.
Erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display B18DE–POWER LIFTGATE HANDLE SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Go To3
No
- Replace the Power Liftgate Latch assembly in accordance with the service information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
3. (P30) LIFTGATE HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (P30) Liftgate Handle Switch Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (P30) Liftgate Handle Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
No
- Go To 4
4. (P30) LIFTGATE HANDLE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO (Q901) LOGIC GROUND
Measure the resistance between the (Q901) Logic Ground circuit and the (P30) Liftgate Handle Switch Sense circuit.
Is the resistance below 1000.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Power Liftgate Module in accordance with the service information.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
No
- Repair the (P30) Liftgate Handle Switch Sense circuit for a short to the (Q901) Logic Ground circuit.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. (Refer to 8 - ELECTRICAL/ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULES - STANDARD PROCEDURE).
