U0431-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM FCM

- When Monitored:
Continuously while the system is active.
- Set Condition:
Implausible data has been received over the bus from the Front Control Module (FCM).

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE - STANDARD PROCEDURE)
Diagnostic Test
1. ACTIVE DTCNOTE: Diagnose all CAN B and C communication DTCs before continuing.
Turn the ignition on.
With a scan tool, view DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Refer to the INTERMITTENT CONDITION Diagnostic Procedure. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE - DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING)
2. FCM COMMUNICATION RELATED DTC'S IN OTHER MODULES
With a scan tool check for FCM communication related DTCs in other modules on the CAN Bus.
Are there any FCM communication related DTCs in other modules on the CAN Bus at this time?
Yes
- Replace and program the Front Control Module (FCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the PCM Verification Test Ver. 1. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE - STANDARD PROCEDURE)
No
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the PCM Verification Test Ver. 1. (Refer to 9 - ENGINE - STANDARD PROCEDURE)
