INJECTOR - FUEL
REMOVAL
The fuel rail must be removed to gain access to the fuel injectors. Refer to Fuel Rail Removal.
1. Disconnect injector wiring connector from each injector.
2. Rotate injector (2) and pull out of fuel rail. The clip will stay on injector.
3. Check injector O-ring for damage. If O-ring is damaged, it must be replaced. If injector is reused, a protective cap must be installed on injector tip to prevent damage. Replace injector clip if it is damaged.
4. Repeat procedures for remaining injectors.
INSTALLATION
1. If same injector(s) is being reinstalled, install new O-ring(s).
2. Apply a small amount of clean engine oil to each injector O-ring. This will aid in installation.
3. Push fuel injector(s) into fuel rail assembly (3) until clip has latched.
4. Install fuel rail. Refer to 14 - FUEL SYSTEM/FUEL DELIVERY/FUEL RAIL - INSTALLATION).
5. Start engine and check for fuel leaks.
