THROTTLE BODY

REMOVAL




1. Disconnect and isolate negative battery cable at battery.
2. Remove throttle body air intake hose.
3. Disconnect throttle body electrical connector (3).
4. Remove four bolts (4).
5. Remove throttle body (1) from intake manifold (2).


NOTE: Inspect intake manifold to throttle body gasket (2) for damage. Inspect the j-nuts for damage or excessive wear. Replace as necessary.


6. Inspect the four j-nuts (1) for damage or excessive wear, remove if necessary.
7. Inspect intake manifold to throttle body gasket (2) for damage, remove if necessary.

INSTALLATION




1. Install a new intake manifold to throttle body gasket (2), if replacement was necessary.
2. Install four new four j-nuts (1), if replacement was necessary.


CAUTION: DO NOT OVER TORQUE. Over tightening can cause damage to the throttle body, gaskets, bolts and/or the intake manifold.


3. Install throttle body (1) to intake manifold (2).
4. Install four bolts (4) and hand tighten.
5. Connect throttle body (1) electrical connector (3).


CAUTION: The throttle body must be torqued in a mandatory torque sequence. Tighten in a criss - cross pattern to specification.


6. Tighten the bolts in a mandatory torque criss - cross pattern sequence to 7.5 N·m (65 in. lbs.).
7. Install throttle body air intake hose and tighten clamps.
8. Connect negative battery cable, tighten nut to 5 N·m (45 in. lbs.).
9. Use a scan tool and select the ETC RELEARN function to relearn the APPS values.
