INSTALLATION
LOWER INTERMEDIATE SHAFT
1. Install the intermediate shaft to the vehicle.
2. Install the lower intermediate shaft (3) to the upper intermediate shaft (1).
3. Install the upper pinch bolt (2) and tighten the bolt to 49 N·m (36 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the coupler (1) at the steering gear (2).
5. Install the lower coupler pinch bolt at the steering gear and tighten the bolt to 49 N·m (36 ft. lbs.).
6. Unlock the steering wheel.
7. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
UPPER INTERMEDIATE SHAFT
1. Install the intermediate shaft (1) to studs (2) at the cowl.
2. Install the two mounting nuts (3). Tighten to 13 N·m (115 in.lbs).
3. Install the upper shaft coupler (2) to the steering column (1).
4. Install and tighten the pinch bolt (4) to 49 N·m (36 ft. lbs.).
5. Install the lower intermediate shaft coupler (3) to the upper intermediate shaft (1).
6. Install the pinch bolt (2) and tighten the bolt to 49 N·m (36 ft. lbs.).
7. Unlock the steering wheel.
8. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
