CYLINDER, Clutch Slave

REMOVAL

REMOVAL

  1. With transmission in neutral, position vehicle on hoist.

    2.  
  2. Pull hydraulic line (2) clip from the slave cylinder.

    3.  
  3. Remove the line from the bracket and the cylinder.

    4.  
  4. Remove mounting nuts (1) from slave cylinder (3).

    5.  
  5. Remove the bracket from slave cylinder (3).

    CAUTION:

    Do not allow release lever plunger to pivot more than 2° in either direction in the slave cylinder bore. Allowing the plunger to pivot more than 2° in the bore will cause fluid to bypass the seal and result in fluid leakage.

  6. Remove slave cylinder by pulling straight back.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Do not allow release lever plunger to pivot more than 2° in either direction in the slave cylinder bore. Allowing the plunger to pivot more than 2° in the bore will cause fluid to bypass the seal and result in fluid leakage.



NOTE:

Pull the clutch release lever toward the slave cylinder opening to insure proper seating of the slave cylinder plunger to the release lever pocket.

  1. Install slave cylinder (3) in transmission.

    2.  
  2. Install hydraulic line (2) and with bracket to slave cylinder.

    NOTE:

    Verify O-ring is on hydraulic line.

  3. Install slave cylinder nuts (1) and tighten to 25 N·m (18 ft. lbs.).

  4. Bleed hydraulic system. (Refer to 06 - Clutch - Standard Procedure) .
