B210D-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW

Theory of Operation
The Occupant Restraint Controller module (ORC) receives power from both a fused run relay output and fused ignition switch output circuit from the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). These circuits power the ORC and the capacitors used to initiate the squib deployment circuits in the event of collision detection.

When Monitored:
The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module checks the (F100) Fused Ignition (Run Only) relay Output circuit and (F201) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run-Start) circuit voltage input range every 10ms throughout the ignition cycle.

Set Condition:
The code will be set active if the ORC detects when both the Ignition (Run Only) and Ignition (Run-Start) supply circuits voltage is less than 9 volts for 15 seconds. The code will go from active to stored if the Ignition (Run Only) or Ignition (Run-Start) voltage is more than 10 volts for 5 seconds. The Airbag Warning Lamp (AWL) sets for this DTC. Air Bag Deployment will not be inhibited by this DTC.

1. VERIFY THAT DTC B210D-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW IS ACTIVE
| NOTE: | Make sure the battery is fully charged. |
| NOTE: | Troubleshoot any PCM charging/cranking DTC before proceeding. |
| 1. | Turn the ignition on. |
| 2. | With the scan tool, read the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) DTC. |
Does the scan tool display active: B210D-BATTERY VOLTAGE LOW IS ACTIVE?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Go To 3
2. CHECK VOLTAGE OF ORC MODULE (F100) FUSED RUN and (F201) FUSED RUN/START CIRCUIT.
Turn the ignition off, disconnect
the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure
to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal
injury.
WARNING:

the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure
to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal
injury.
WARNING:
| 2. | Measure the voltage between Ground and the F100 Fused Run circuit. |
| 3. | Measure the voltage between Ground and the F201 Fused Run/Start circuit. |
Is the voltage above 10.0 volts on both circuits?
Yes
- Replace the ORC in accordance with the service information. (Refer to 10 - Restraints/MODULE, Occupant Restraint Controller - Removal) .
- Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/CONTROLLER, Occupant Restraint (ORC) - Standard Procedure)
No
- Repair the (F100) Fused (Run Only) Relay Output and/or (F201) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run-Start) circuits for an open or high resistance.
- Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/CONTROLLER, Occupant Restraint (ORC) - Standard Procedure)
3. CHECKING STORED OR INTERMITTENT CODES
| NOTE: | Diagnose and repair all active codes before diagnosing stored codes. Refer to the Table of Contents in this Section for a complete list of airbag system diagnostic procedures. |
| 1. | With the scan tool, record and erase all Airbag System Module DTCs. |
Turn the ignition off disconnect
the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure
to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal
injury.
WARNING:
| 2. | Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the related wiring and connectors for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires, and for broken, bent, pushed out, corroded, and contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary. |
| 3. | Reconnect all disconnected components and harness connectors. |

the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure
to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal
injury.
