Theory of Operation
The Occupant Restraint Controller module (ORC) receives power from both a fused run relay output and fused ignition switch output circuit from the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM). These circuits power the ORC and the capacitors used to initiate the squib deployment circuits in the event of collision detection.

When Monitored:
The Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module checks the (F100) Fused Ignition (Run Only) relay Output circuit and (F201) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run-Start) circuit voltage input range every 10ms throughout the ignition cycle. .

Set Condition:
This code is set immediately after the Occupant Restraint Module (ORC) detects that voltage on either the Ignition Run or the Ignition Run/Start supply circuits are above 18 volts for more than 15 seconds. If the circuit voltage drops below 17 volts for both feed circuits for more than 5 seconds the code will go from active to stored. The Airbag Warning Lamp (AWL) will set for this DTC. Air Bag Deployment will not be inhibited by this DTC.

Does the scan tool display active: B210E-BATTERY VOLTAGE HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Go To 4
2. CHECK THE BATTERY VOLTAGE TO THE OCCUPANT RESTRAINT CONTROLLER MODULE
| 1. | With the scan tool in Data Display, read ORC battery voltage. |
Is the battery voltage greater than 18.0 volts?
Yes
- Go To 3
No

WARNING: Turn the ignition off disconnect the 12-volt battery and wait two minutes before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Replace the ORC in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to 10 - Restraints/MODULE, Occupant Restraint Controller - Removal) .
- Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/CONTROLLER, Occupant Restraint (ORC) - Standard Procedure).
3. CHECK FOR CHARGING SYSTEM RELATED DTC IN THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)
| 1. | With the scan tool in ECU View, select PCM and check for any Charging System related DTC. |
Does the scan tool display any Charging System related DTC?
Yes
No

- Replace the ORC in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to 10 - Restraints/MODULE, Occupant Restraint Controller - Removal) .
- Perform the AIRBAG SYSTEM VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/CONTROLLER, Occupant Restraint (ORC) - Standard Procedure).
4. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
| 1. | With the scan tool, record and erase all DTC from all Airbag modules. |
| 2. | If any ACTIVE codes are present they must be resolved before diagnosing any stored codes. |
Does the scan tool display any ACTIVE DTC?
Yes
