When Monitored:
With the engine running after a cold soak.

Set Condition:
The PCM detects that the Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) Sensor 1/2 Signal voltage is not plausible for 2.5 seconds.

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
CHECK THE EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR 1/2
| NOTE: | For best results allow the vehicle to cold soak for at least two hours before comparing sensors. |
| 1. | With the scan tool compare the readings of EGT Sensor 2 with the readings of the EGT Sensor 1, Ambient Air Temperature Sensor, and Inlet Air Temperature Sensors. |
Is the EGT Sensor 2 reading approximately the same as the other temperature sensors?
Yes
- Perform the INTERMITTENT DTC diagnostic procedure. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
No
- Replace the Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1/2 in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
