P2610-PCM INTERNAL ENGINE OFF TIMER PERFORMANCE

When Monitored:
After ignition is turned off during afterrun mode.

Set Condition:
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects a PCM off timer error.
Possible Causes |

| POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) |
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
DTC IS ACTIVE
| 1. | Ignition on, engine not running. |
| 2. | With the scan tool, clear DTCs in the PCM. |
| 3. | Cycle the ignition key off and on several times, leaving the ignition on for at least two minutes at a time. |
| 4. | Start the engine. |
| 5. | Perform several engine run cycles, turning the ignition off for at least two minutes between each engine run cycle. |
| 6. | With the scan tool, select View DTCs. |
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT DTC diagnostic procedure. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM) - Standard Procedure).
