B1806-PASSENGER DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW

This trouble code is for the Right Door Lock Switch for all vehicles including right hand drive.

When Monitored:
Continuously
Set Condition:
When the Right Door Lock Switch Mux circuit is below 0.15 volt for over 10 seconds.

Possible Causes
(G160) RIGHT DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
(G160) RIGHT DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (P37) DOOR LOCK SWITCH RETURN
DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORTED TO GROUND
TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (TIPM)

1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION

1.	With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.

2.	Operate the Right Door Lock Switch in all positions several times.

3.	Cycle the ignition from on to off.

4.	Turn the ignition on.

5.	With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1806-PASSENGER DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW?

Yes

The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).

2. DOOR LOCK SWITCH SHORTED

1.	With the scan tool, erase DTCs.

2.	Disconnect the Right Door Lock Switch harness connector.

3.	With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display B1806-PASSENGER DOOR LOCK/UNLOCK SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW?

No

Yes

3. (G160) RIGHT DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

1.	Turn the ignition off.

2.	Disconnect the TIPM C7 harness connector.

3.	Measure the resistance between ground and the (G160) Right Door Lock Switch Mux circuit.

Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?

Yes

Repair the (G160) Right Door Lock Switch Mux circuit for a short to ground.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).

4. (G160) RIGHT DOOR LOCK SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT SHORTED TO THE (P37) DOOR LOCK SWITCH RETURN

1.	Measure the resistance between the (G160) Right Door Lock Switch Mux circuit and the (P37) Door Lock Switch Return circuit in the Door Lock Switch harness connector.

Is the resistance below 10k Ohms?

Yes

Repair the (G160) Right Door Lock Switch Mux circuit for a short to the Door Lock Switch Return circuit.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).

Replace the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
