SOLENOID, Vacuum, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Bypass

DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

The EGR Cooler Vacuum Solenoid is located on the bottom of the intake manifold next to the thermostat housing.

REMOVAL

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    2.  
  2. Remove the EGR cooler (Refer to 07 - Cooling/Engine/COOLER, EGR - Removal) .

  3. Disconnect harness connector (1).

    4.  
  4. Disconnect vacuum lines (4).

    5.  
  5. Remove bolts (3) and the EGR cooler bypass vacuum solenoid (2).

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

  1. Install the EGR cooler bypass vacuum solenoid (2). Tighten bolts (3) 5 N·m (44 in. lbs.).

  2. Connect harness connector (1).

  3. Connect vacuum lines (4).

  4. Install the EGR cooler (Refer to 07 - Cooling/Engine/COOLER, EGR - Installation) .

  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
