VALVE, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR), 2.8L Diesel

REMOVAL

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the front lower splash shield.

    3.  
  3. Drain the cooling system (Refer to 07 - Cooling - Standard Procedure) .

    4.  
  4. Remove the coolant recovery bottle (Refer to 07 - Cooling/Engine/BOTTLE, Coolant Recovery - Removal) .

    5.  
  5. Disconnect the EGR valve wire harness connector (1).

    6.  
  6. Remove bolts (1) and the EGR valve (2).

    7.  
  7. Remove and discard gasket.

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

  1. Clean the gasket mating surfaces.

    2.  
  2. Position a new EGR valve gasket (1, 3) onto manifold (2).

  3. Install EGR valve. Tighten bolts (1) to 15 N·m (133 in. lbs.).

  4. Connect the EGR valve wire harness connector (1).

    5.  
  5. Install the coolant recovery bottle (Refer to 07 - Cooling/Engine/BOTTLE, Coolant Recovery - Installation) .

  6. Fill the cooling system (Refer to 07 - Cooling - Standard Procedure) .

  7. Install the front lower splash shield.

    8.  
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.
