SENSOR, Oil Temperature

DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

The oil temperature sensor (1) is located on the oil filter housing next to the engine oil cooler.

REMOVAL

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Remove the air cleaner body (Refer to 09 - Engine/Air Intake System/BODY, Air Cleaner - Removal) .

  3. Partially remove the serpentine belt (Refer to 07 - Cooling/Accessory Drive/BELT, Serpentine - Removal) .

  4. Disconnect the oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).

    5.  
  5. Remove the oil temperature sensor (1).

INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION

  1. Using a new sealing washer (1), install the temperature sensor (2). Tighten to 14 N·m (124 in. lbs.).

  2. Connect the oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (1).

  3. Install the serpentine belt (Refer to 07 - Cooling/Accessory Drive/BELT, Serpentine - Installation) .

  4. Install the air cleaner body (Refer to 09 - Engine/Air Intake System/BODY, Air Cleaner - Installation) .

    5.  
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

    6.  
  6. Start engine and check for oil leaks.
