Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Powertrain Control (PCM)
- Standard Procedure).

DTC IS ACTIVE
| 2. |
With the scan tool, erase DTCs in the PCM.
|
| 3. |
Cycle the ignition on and off several times, leaving the ignition on for at least 20 seconds during each ignition cycle.
|
| 5. |
With the scan tool, select View DTCs.
|
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
No

INTELLIGENT BATTERY SENSOR
| 1. |
Turn the ignition off.
|
| 2. |
Replace the Intelligent Battery Sensor in accordance with the service information.
|
| 4. |
With the scan tool, erase DTCs in the PCM.
|
| 5. |
Cycle the ignition on and off several times, leaving the ignition on for at least 20 seconds during each ignition cycle.
|
| 7. |
With the scan tool, select View DTCs.
|
Did the DTC return?
Yes
No

POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE
| 1. |
Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors between the IBS and the Powertrain Control Module.
|
| 2. |
Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched, or partially broken wires.
|
| 3. |
Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals.
|
| 4. |
Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
|
