Set Condition:
When the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) detects a high condition.

| 1. | Turn the ignition on. |
| 2. | With the scan tool, clear all DTCs. |
| 3. | Turn the Front Fog Lamps on. |
| 4. | With the scan tool, read DTCs. |
Does the scan tool display active DTC B16F9-FRONT LEFT FOG LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
2. CHECK THE (Z905) GROUND CIRCUIT
| 1. | Disconnect the Left Front Fog Lamp harness connector. |
| 2. | With a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z905) Ground circuit. |
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Go To 3
| 1. | Turn the ignition off. |
| 2. | Measure the resistance between ground and the (Z905) Ground circuit in the Left Front Fog Lamp harness connector. |
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the inoperative bulb in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
No
- Repair the open in the (Z905) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
4. CHECK (L89) LEFT FRONT FOG LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT
| 1. | Turn the ignition on. |
| 2. | With a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (L89) Left Front Fog Lamp Control circuit. |
Does the test light illuminate brightly with the fog lamp switch turned on, and shut off with the fog lamps turned off?
Yes
- Replace the inoperative bulb in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
No
- Go To 5
5. (L89) LEFT FRONT FOG LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
| 1. | Turn the ignition off. |
| 2. | Disconnect the TIPM C4 harness connector. |
| 3. | Measure the resistance of the (L89) Left Front Fog Lamp Control circuit between the Left Front Fog Lamp harness connector and the TIPM C4 harness connector. |
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- Repair the open in the (L89) Left Front Fog Lamp Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
6. (L89) LEFT FRONT FOG LAMP CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE
| 1. | Turn the ignition on. |
| 2. | Measure the voltage of the (L89) Left Front Fog Lamp Control circuit. |
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the short to voltage in the (L89) Left Front Fog Lamp Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
No
- Replace the TIPM in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
