B1421-AUDIO CD READ ERROR/INOPERABLE DISC

When Monitored:
Continuously with the ignition on and the Radio CD player turned on.
Set Condition:
The code will set if a CD is scratched, damaged, or contains corrupt data.

Possible Causes
CD READ FAILURE

RADIO

1.	Replace the problem CD with a good, clean, unscratched, music CD.

2.	Turn the Radio CD player on.

3.	With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display: B1421 AUDIO CD READ ERROR/INOPERABLE DISC?

Yes

Eject the inoperative CD and replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information.
Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. (Refer to 28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/MODULE, Totally Integrated Power (TIPM) - Standard Procedure).
