SPEAKER

DESCRIPTION

The standard equipment speaker system includes four full-range speakers. The two front speakers are mounted behind a removable bezel located on each outboard end of the lower instrument panel. With the premium speaker system, the standard front speakers are replace with an enclosure assembly that includes a 4 inch speaker and a 1 inch tweeter. The two rear speakers are mounted behind a grille located on each outboard end of the sport bar, above the rear seating area of the vehicle.

OPERATION

Two wires connected to each speaker, one feed circuit (+) and one return circuit (–), allow the audio output signal electrical current to flow through the speaker voice coil.

C-4755 - Trim Stick Originally Shipped In Kit Number(s) 9299, 9299CC, 9299CC, 9300A-CAN.

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

 
2. Using trim stick C-4755 or equivalent, gently remove the tweeter.

 
3. Disconnect the electrical connector.
   

 

INSTRUMENT PANEL - DRIVERS SIDE

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

 
2. Remove the instrument panel end cap (1).
   
   

 
3. Remove the steering column opening cover (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/COVER, Steering Column Opening - Removal) .
   
   

 
4. Remove the driver side lower instrument panel retainer (1) next to the DLC connector.
   
   

 
5. Remove the instrument panel cover steering column opening cover retainers (1).
   
   

 
6. Remove the speaker mounting fasteners (1).
   
   

 
7. Remove the driver side lower speaker mounting retainer (1).

 
8. Disconnect the speaker electrical connector.
   
   

 
9. Remove the speaker by carefully pulling the left side of the instrument panel (1) outward until there is sufficient room to remove the speaker through the end cap area.
   

 

INSTRUMENT PANEL – PASSENGER SIDE

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

 
2. Remove the glove box (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/GLOVE BOX, Instrument Panel/Removal) .

 
3. Remove the instrument panel end cap.
   

 
4. Remove the two speaker (1) fasteners (2) through end cap opening.
   
   

 
5. Remove the speaker (2) fastener (1) through glove box opening.
   
   

 
6. Disconnect the speaker electrical connector (1) from the instrument panel wiring harness connector (2).

 
7. Remove the speaker through the glove box opening.

 

SOUND BAR

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

 
2. Remove the mounting fasteners and remove the speaker cover grille.

 
3. Remove the speaker.

 
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
   

 

SUBWOOFER

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable.

 
2. Remove the mounting fasteners (1) and remover the speaker cover grille.

 
3. Remove the subwoofer (2).

 
4. Disconnect the electrical connector.
   

 

TWEETER

1. Connect the electrical connector.

 
2. Gently press the tweeter into the speaker housing.

 
3. Connect the battery negative cable.
   

 

INSTRUMENT PANEL - DRIVERS SIDE

1. Install the speaker by carefully pulling the left side of the instrument panel (1) outward until there is sufficient room to install the speaker through the end cap area.
   
   

 
2. Connect the speaker electrical connector.

 
3. Install the driver side lower speaker mounting retainer (1).
   
   

 
4. Install the speaker mounting fasteners (1).

 
5. Connect the electrical connector.
   
   

 
6. Install the driver side lower instrument panel retainer (1) next to the DLC connector.
   
   

 
7. Install the instrument panel cover steering column opening cover retainers (1).
   
   

 
8. Install the reinforcement plate and steering column opening cover (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/COVER, Steering Column Opening - Installation) .
   
   

 
9. Install the instrument panel end cap (1).

 
10. Connect the negative battery cable.
    

 

INSTRUMENT PANEL – PASSENGER SIDE

1. Install the speaker through the glove box opening.
   
   

 
2. Connect the speaker electrical connector (1) to the instrument panel wiring harness connector (2).
   
   

 
3. Install the speaker (2) fastener (1) through the glove box opening and securely tighten.
   
   

 
4. Install the two speaker (1) fasteners (2) through the end cap opening and securely tighten.
   

 
5. Install the instrument panel end cap.

 
6. Install the glove box (Refer to 23 - Body/Instrument Panel/GLOVE BOX, Instrument Panel/Installation) .

 
7. Connect the negative battery cable.

 

SOUND BAR

1. Connect the electrical connector.

 
2. Install the speaker.

 
3. Install the mounting fasteners.

 
4. Connect the battery negative cable.
   

 

SUBWOOFER

1. Connect the electrical connector.

 
2. Install the subwoofer (2) into the vehicle.

 
3. Install and tighten the mounting fasteners (1).

 
4. Connect the negative batter cable.
