SEAL, Crankshaft Oil, Front

REMOVAL

  1. Remove the crankshaft sprocket (Refer to 09 - Engine/Valve Timing/SPROCKET(S) , Timing Belt and Chain - Removal).

    NOTE:

    Do not gouge or scratch the surface of the crankshaft when removing the front crankshaft oil seal.

  2. Remove the front crankshaft oil seal (1).

NOTE:

The lip of the front oil seal faces away from the engine on installation.

  1. Position the front crankshaft oil seal (1) into the front cover.

    NOTE:

    The crankshaft sprocket bolt is a left handed thread.

  2. Using Installer, Front Crankshaft Oil Seal VM.10335 (2), install the front crankshaft oil seal using the vibration damper bolt (1) to draw the seal in place.

  3. Remove bolt (1) and the Installer, Front Crankshaft Oil Seal VM.10335 (2).

  4. Install the crankshaft sprocket (Refer to 09 - Engine/Valve Timing/SPROCKET(S) , Timing Belt and Chain - Installation).
