VALVE, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Airflow Control

DESCRIPTION

The EGR air control valve is located near the center of the intake manifold.

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Loosen clamp and disconnect air tube from air control valve.

    3.  
  3. Disconnect EGR air flow control valve harness connector (1).

    4.  
  4. Remove bolts (1) and the EGR air control valve (2).

    5.  
  5. Remove and discard O-ring gasket.

    6.  
  6. Install the Set, Universal Protective Cap 10368 into intake manifold opening.

INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the Set, Universal Protective Cap 10368 from intake manifold opening.

    2.  
  2. Clean the gasket surface areas.

    3.  
  3. Install a new O-ring gasket (1).

    4.  
  4. Install EGR air control valve (2). Tighten bolts (1) to 11 N·m (97 in. lbs.).

  5. Connect air control valve harness (1).

    6.  
  6. Connect air tube to air control valve and securely tighten clamp.

    7.  
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.
