CROSSMEMBER, Transmission

REMOVAL


SKID PLATES

1 - TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE

2 - TRANSFER CASE SKID PLATE CROSSMEMBER BOLTS 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

3 - TRANSFER CASE SKID PLATE SUPPORT BRACE BOLTS 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

4 - TRANSFER CASE SKID PLATE

5 - TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE CROSSMEMBER BOLT 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

6 - TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE CROSSMEMBER 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

7 - CROSSMEMBER

  1. Remove the transmission skid plate (1). (Refer to 13 - Frame and Bumpers/Under Body Protection/PLATE, Skid - Removal)

  2. Remove the transfercase skid plate (4). (Refer to 13 - Frame and Bumpers/Under Body Protection/PLATE, Skid - Removal)

  3. Remove the left side bolts (1).

  4. Remove the fuel tank skid plate bolts (2).

    5.  
  5. Remove the right side bolts (1) and remove the crossmember (3).

INSTALLATION

  1. Install the crossmember (2) and install the bolts (1).

  2. Install the right side bolts (1) and tighten all four crossmember bolts to 122 N·m (90 ft. lbs.).

  3. Install the fuel tank skid plate bolts (2) and tighten to 99 N·m (73 ft. lbs.).

    2 - TRANSFER CASE SKID PLATE CROSSMEMBER BOLTS 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

    3 - TRANSFER CASE SKID PLATE SUPPORT BRACE BOLTS 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

    4 - TRANSFER CASE SKID PLATE

    5 - TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE CROSSMEMBER BOLT 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

    6 - TRANSMISSION SKID PLATE CROSSMEMBER 65 N·m (48 ft. lbs.)

    7 - CROSSMEMBER

  4. Install the transmission skid plate (1). (Refer to 13 - Frame and Bumpers/Under Body Protection/PLATE, Skid - Installation)
