SENSOR, Crankshaft Position

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

    2.  
  2. Raise and support vehicle (Refer to 04 - Vehicle Quick Reference/Hoisting/Standard Procedure) .

    3.  
  3. Remove bolts and the access cover.

    4.  
  4. Disconnect Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) wire harness connector (2).

    5.  
  5. Remove bolt (3) and the CKP sensor (4).

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:

Before tightening the CKP sensor mounting bolt, be sure the sensor is completely flush to the cylinder block. If the CKP sensor is not flush, damage to the sensor mounting tang may result.

  1. Install Crankshaft Position Sensor (CKP) sensor (4). Tighten bolt (3) to 11 N·m (97 in. lbs.).

  2. Connect CKP wire harness connector (2).

  3. Position CKP access cover. Install bolts and tighten to 15 N·m (133 in. lbs.).

  4. Lower the vehicle.

    5.  
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.

    6.
