ADAPTER, Disc Brake Caliper

FRONT

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

    2.  
  2. Remove the front wheel and tire assembly.

    3.  
  3. Remove the caliper (4) from the adaptor (3) (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/CALIPER, Disc Brake - Removal) .

  4. Remove the disc brake caliper (1) from the adapter (4).

    CAUTION:

    Never allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the brake hose will result. Provide a suitable support to hang the caliper securely.

  5. Remove the inboard (2) and outboard brake pads (3). (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/PADS and/or SHOES, Brake - Removal) .

  6. Remove the caliper adapter mounting bolts (1).

    7.  
  7. Remove the caliper adapter (4).

REAR

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

    2.  
  2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.

    3.  
  3. Remove the caliper (1) (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/CALIPER, Disc Brake - Removal) .

  4. Remove the disc brake caliper from the adapter.

    CAUTION:

    Never allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the brake hose will result. Provide a suitable support to hang the caliper securely.

  5. Remove the inboard (3) and outboard brake pads (4). (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/PADS and/or SHOES, Brake - Removal) .

  6. Remove the caliper adapter mounting bolts (2).

FRONT

  1. Install the caliper adapter mounting bolts (1). Tighten the mounting bolts to 163 N·m (120 ft.lbs).

  2. Install the inboard (2) and outboard pads (3). (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/PADS and/or SHOES, Brake - Installation) .

  3. Install the caliper (4) to the adapter (3) (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/CALIPER, Disc Brake - Installation) .

  4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. (Refer to 22 - Tires and Wheels/Wheels - Standard Procedure) .

REAR

  1. Install the caliper adapter mounting bolts (2) and tighten to 105 N·m (77 ft.lbs).

  2. Install the inboard (3) and outboard pads (4). (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/PADS and/or SHOES, Brake - Installation) .

  3. Install the caliper (Refer to 05 - Brakes/Hydraulic/Mechanical/CALIPER, Disc Brake - Installation) .

  4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. (Refer to 22 - Tires and Wheels/Wheels - Standard Procedure) .
