DRAG LINK, Steering

DRAG LINK (KNUCKLE SIDE)

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

  2. Remove the right front tire.

    3.  
  3. Remove the right side drag link nut at the knuckle.

    4.  
  4. Separate the drag link using special tool 9360 separator (2).

    5.  
  5. Remove the tie rod nut at the knuckle.

    6.  
  6. Separate the tie rod using special tool 9360 separator (2).

    NOTE:

    Count the number of turns when removing the tie rod end, This will give a good starting point when reassembling and toe adjustment.

  7. Loosen the nut and bolt (1) for the drag link adjustment sleeve.

  8. Unthread the drag link socket from the adjuster.

DRAG LINK TIE ROD (PITMAN ARM SIDE)

  1. Raise and support the vehicle.

  2. Remove the drag link nut at the pitman arm.

    3.  
  3. Separate the drag link (3) from the pitman arm using special tool 9360 separator (2).

    NOTE:

    Count the number of turns when removing the tie rod end, This will give a good starting point when reassembling and toe adjustment.

  4. Loosen the nut and bolt (1) for the drag link adjustment sleeve.

  5. Unthread the tie rod end from the tube.

DRAG LINK (KNUCKLE SIDE)

  1. Thread the drag link socket into the adjuster. Tighten the adjustment sleeve bolt finger tight (1). Do not tighten to specs until after the toe set is complete.

  2. Install the drag link to the knuckle and tighten the nut to 85 N·m (63 ft. lbs.)

  3. Install the tie rod end to the knuckle and tighten to 85 N·m (63 ft. lbs.).

  4. Install the right side tire.

  5. Lower the vehicle.

    6.  
  6. Set the toe. (Refer to 02 - Front Suspension/Wheel Alignment - Standard Procedure) .

DRAG LINK TIE ROD (PITMAN ARM SIDE)

  1. Thread the tie rod end onto the drag link tube. Tighten the tie rod end adjustment sleeve bolt finger tight (1). Do not tighten to specs until after the toe set is complete.

  2. Install the tie rod end and nut to the pitman arm and tighten to 105 N·m (77 ft. lbs.).

  3. Lower the vehicle.

  4. Set the toe. (Refer to 02 - Front Suspension/Wheel Alignment - Standard Procedure) .
