PICK-UP, Oil Pump

REMOVAL

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Raise and support the vehicle (Refer to 04 - Vehicle Quick Reference/Hoisting - Standard Procedure) .

  3. Remove the upper oil pan (Refer to 09 - Engine/Lubrication/PAN, Oil - Removal) .

  4. Remove bolt (1) and the oil pump pickup tube (2) and discard O-rings.

INSTALLATION

  1. Lubricate and install two new O-rings (2) on oil pickup tube (1).

  2. Install the oil pickup tube (2). Tighten bolt (1) to 15 N·m. (133 in. lbs.).

  3. Install the upper oil pan (Refer to 09 - Engine/Lubrication/PAN, Oil - Installation) .

  4. Refill engine with recommended oil to proper level.

  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
