DESCRIPTION

  1. The power management control ECU (HV CPU) detects a problem in the collision signal line from the airbag sensor assembly and alerts the driver.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK DTC OUTPUT (SRS AIRBAG)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / SRS Airbag / DTC.

  1. Check if DTCs are output.

  1. Turn the power switch off.

2.CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY (CHECK WAVEFORM)

  1. Connect an oscilloscope between the airbag sensor assembly terminals specified in the table below.

  1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

  1. Measure the waveform.

3.CLEAR DTC

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.

  1. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

4.CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HYBRID CONTROL)

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the power switch on (IG).

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / DTC.

  1. Check if DTCs are output.

    Result:

  1. Turn the power switch off.

5.CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS

6.CHECK AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect connector H84 from the airbag sensor assembly.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Switch Condition
    		Specified Condition
    H84-14 (GSW2) - H84-25 (E1)
    		Power switch off
    		10 kΩ or higher

  1. Connect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

7.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY)

  1. Disconnect connector H3 from the power management control ECU.

  1. Disconnect connector H84 from the airbag sensor assembly.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Switch Condition
    		Specified Condition
    H3-29 (ABFS) or H84-14 (GSW2) - Body ground and other terminals
    		Power switch off
    		10 kΩ or higher

  1. Connect the airbag sensor assembly connector.
