REMOVAL

Removal / installation


1. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  1. A127530
    Remove the 11 clips and intake duct seal.


2. REMOVE SIDE ENGINE ROOM COVER LH

  1. A123702E01
    Remove the 5 clips and side cover.


3. REMOVE SIDE ENGINE ROOM COVER RH

  1. A123703E01
    Remove the 2 clips and side cover.


4. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR LH

  1. E119591
    Using a clip remover, separate the clip on the rubber portion of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly from the front upper fender protector LH.

  1. Disengage the 3 clips and the claw to remove the front fender protector upper LH.


5. REMOVE FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR RH

HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.


6. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH
  1. Put protective tape around the roof drip side finish moulding.

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips and remove the roof drip side finish moulding.

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not remove the clips.
    2. If the clips are damaged or fall off, replace them with new clips.

7. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING RH

8. REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTSIDE CLIP

HINT:
Perform the following procedure if replacing the No. 1 windshield outside moulding clips.

  1. Remove the 5 No. 1 windshield outside moulding clips.

9. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM HEAD CAP

    Using a screwdriver, remove the front wiper arm head cap.

    HINT:
    1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
    2. Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


10. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY LH

    Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly LH.


11. REMOVE FRONT WIPER ARM AND BLADE ASSEMBLY RH

  1. E119605
    Remove the nut and the front wiper arm and blade assembly RH.


12. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. E119595
    Remove the 2 clips.

  1. E119597
    Disengage the 11 claws, and pull out the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly.


13. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/o Illumination)

  1. B125381E01
    Put protective tape around the front door scuff plate.

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.

  1. B125382
    Disengage the 7 claws and remove the front door scuff plate LH.


14. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Illumination)
  1. Connect the connector.

    Engage the 4 clips.

  1. B125382
    Engage the 7 claws, and install the front door scuff plate LH.


15. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH

    Disengage the 6 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover LH.


16. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

    Disengage the 2 clips from the vehicle body.

  1. Cut off the clip <A>.

  1. Disengage the claw and remove the front pillar garnish LH.

  1. Remove the clip <A> from the vehicle body.

    Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

    1. Thoroughly cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and fix the ends of the cover with adhesive tape, as shown in the illustration.

      NOTICE:
      Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.


17. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH (w/o Illumination)

19. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER RH

    Disengage the 6 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover RH.


20. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

21. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR STAY HOLDER COVER (w/ EC Mirror)

  1. B128195
    Disengage the 2 claws and remove the inner rear view mirror stay holder cover as shown in the illustration.


22. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.

  1. Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.


23. REMOVE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 claws and open the cover.

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips.

  1. Disconnect the connector. Remove the map light assembly.


24. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/ EC Mirror)

  1. B128196
    Disconnect the connector.

  1. Using a "torx" socket wrench (T20), remove the screw and the inner rear view mirror.


25. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (w/o EC Mirror)

    Disengage the 2 claws and the cover.

  1. B124420
    Pull the lever in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration and slide the inner rear view mirror assembly upward to remove it.


26. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and remove the 2 assist grip covers.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the assist grip sub-assembly.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure for the other 3 assist grips.


27. REMOVE VISOR BRACKET COVER

    Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 claws and remove the visor bracket cover.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure to remove the cover on the other side.


28. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY LH

    Remove the 2 screws and visor assembly LH.


29. REMOVE VISOR ASSEMBLY RH

30. REMOVE VISOR HOLDER

  1. B050596
    Remove the visor holder by turning it counterclockwise.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedure to remove the holder on the other side.


31. REMOVE RAIN SENSOR (w/ Rain Sensor)

    Release the stopper by pulling it down.

    Disconnect the connector and remove the rain sensor as shown in the illustration.


32. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/o Sliding Roof)
It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining assembly. Slightly lower the front section of the roof headlining assembly so that the windshield glass can be removed (Click here).

33. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY (w/ Sliding Roof)
It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining assembly. Slightly lower the front section of the roof headlining assembly so that the windshield glass can be removed (Click here).

34. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING

    Using a knife, cut off the moulding, as shown in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    Do not damage the vehicle body with the knife.

  1. Remove the remaining moulding from the vehicle body.

    HINT:
    When removing, make a partial cut, then pull and remove it by hand.


35. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS

  1. B123402E01
    Pass a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass from the interior.

  1. Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects.

    NOTICE:
    1. When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and the interior and exterior ornaments.
    2. To prevent the safety pad from being scratched when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad.

    HINT:
    Apply protective tape to the outer surface to prevent the surface from being scratched.

    Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Matchmarks do not need to be placed if the glass is not going to be reused.

  1. Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass.

  1. Using a suction cup, remove the glass.

    NOTICE:
    Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the glass.


36. REMOVE NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER
  1. Using a scraper, remove the No. 2 windshield glass stoppers.


37. REMOVE NO. 1 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER
  1. Remove the No. 1 windshield glass stoppers.


38. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS

  1. B106929
    Using a scraper, remove the damaged stoppers, dam and adhesive sticking to the glass.

  1. Clean the outer circumference of the glass with non-residue type solvent.

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it.
    2. Be careful not to damage the glass.
    3. Even if using a new glass, clean the glass with non-residue type solvent.
