Troubleshooting

DESCRIPTION
Luggage compartment door opener system data can be read using the intelligent tester after connecting the tester to the Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3) of the vehicle. When the system seems to be malfunctioning, use the intelligent tester to inspect operation of the system, and check for malfunctions before repairing the system.

INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
If voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

Standard voltage:
11 to 14 V

CHECK DLC3

  1. A082779E02
The vehicle's ECU uses ISO 15765-4 communication protocol. The terminal arrangement of the DLC3 complies with SAE J1962 and matches the ISO 15765-4 format.

    HINT:
Connect the cable of the intelligent tester to the DLC3, turn the engine switch on (IG) and attempt to use the tester. If the display on the tester indicates that a communication error has occured, there is a problem either with the vehicle or with the intelligent tester.

    1. If the tester is able to communicate when it is connected to another vehicle, inspect the DLC3 on the original vehicle.
    2. If the communication is still not possible when the tester is connected to another vehicle, the problem may be in the tester itself. Consult the tester's instruction manual for information on service or repair of the tester.
