Removal / installation
- NOTICE:
- As much as possible avoid touching the stroke portions of the rod to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinders while servicing.
- Do not wear cotton gloves or other similar materials when handling the rod. Fibers may attach to the rod and result in gas leaks.
- Do not apply any load to the cylinders in the horizontal direction in order to prevent the rod from being deformed.
- As much as possible avoid touching the stroke portions of the rod to prevent foreign matter from attaching to it. Be sure to hold the cylinders while servicing.
- HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
| 1. INSTALL HOOD SUPPORT ASSEMBLY |
When a new hood support assembly is used:
Install a new hood support assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Install the hood support assembly while supporting the hood with hand.
- Check that the hood support assembly is engaged in the ball joint and it cannot be pulled out.
- Install the hood support assembly while supporting the hood with hand.
When the removed hood support assembly is reused:
Install the hood support assembly with the 3 bolts.

- Torque:
- 22 N*m{ 224 kgf*cm , 16 ft.*lbf }
- NOTICE:
- Install the hood support assembly while supporting the hood with hand.
- Check that the hood support assembly is engaged in the ball joint and it cannot be pulled out.
- Install the hood support assembly while supporting the hood with hand.
| 2. INSTALL FRONT UPPER FENDER PROTECTOR |
Engage the claw and the 3 clips, then install the front upper fender protector LH.

Engage the clip on the rubber portion of the cowl top ventilator louver sub-assembly to the front fender protector upper LH.
| 3. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER |
Install the side cover with the 5 clips.

| 4. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL |
Install the intake duct seal with the 11 clips.
