P0190
Diagnostic trouble codes
DESCRIPTION
The fuel pressure sensor is installed on the delivery pipe. The sensor changes fuel pressure to an electrical signal and sends the signal to the ECM. Then the ECM controls the feedback of the pump discharge to maintain the fuel's target pressure at 4 to 13 MPa (40.8 to 132.6 kgf/cm, 2, 580 to 1,885 psi). If the sensor output stops, the ECM will stop the high pressure side fuel pump and supply fuel using the low pressure side fuel pump.

The fuel pressure sensor is installed on a fuel delivery pipe and detects the fuel pressure. It controls of feedback the pump discharge in order to keep the fuel at target pressure 4 to 13 MPa (40.8 to 132.6 kgf/cm2, 580 to 1,885 psi) by the ECM.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- HINT:
- If different DTCs related to different systems that have terminal E2 as the ground terminal are output simultaneously, terminal E2 may have an open circuit.
- Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, if the air-fuel ratio was lean or rich, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred (Click here).
- If different DTCs related to different systems that have terminal E2 as the ground terminal are output simultaneously, terminal E2 may have an open circuit.
| 1. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (FUEL PRESSURE) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Start the engine.
Turn the intelligent tester ON.
Enter the following menus: Power train / Engine / Data List / Fuel Press.
Read the values.
- Pressure:
- 4 to 13 MPa (40.8 to 132.6 kgf/cm2, 580 to 1,885 psi).
- Result:
Fuel Pressure (MPa)
