REMOVAL

Removal / installation

NOTICE:
When disassembling the network gateway ECU, eliminate static electricity by touching the vehicle body to prevent the components from being damaged.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag deployment (Click here).


2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (w/o Illumination)

HINT:
Removal procedure of the RH side is the same as that of the LH side (Click here).


3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (w/ Illumination)

HINT:
Removal procedure of the RH side is the same as that of the LH side (Click here).


4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER

    Disengage the 6 claws and remove the front door opening trim cover RH.


5. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL

  1. B123354
    Using a moulding remover, disengage the 5 claws and 3 clips, and then remove the side instrument panel RH.


6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

    Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.


7. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

8. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

  1. B123356
    Remove the 5 screws <E>.

  1. Disengage the 2 claws.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the glove compartment door assembly.


9. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  1. B123349E01
    Remove the 2 screws <E>.

  1. Push the 2 claws in the direction indicated by the arrow to disengage them.

  1. Remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly from the guide as shown in the illustration and pull the cover toward the rear of the vehicle.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.


10. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

  1. B123350
    Disengage the 7 clips.

  1. Disconnect the connectors and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel sub-assembly.


11. REMOVE NETWORK GATEWAY ECU
  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. E121396
    Disengage the 2 claws and remove the cover.

  1. E117400
    Remove the network gateway ECU.
