HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING

HINT:

Use these procedures to troubleshoot the occupant classification system.
*: Use the Techstream.

1.	VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

2.	INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE

Standard voltage:

11 to 14 V

If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

3.	CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS

(a) Confirm customer problem symptoms .

4.	CHECK FOR DTC*

(a) Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output .

(b) Clear the DTCs .

(c) Recheck for DTCs . Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the same CAN communication system DTC or occupant classification system DTC by simulating the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
