REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER LH

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

w/ Navigation System:

After the engine switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected .

3. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD

(a) Remove the instrument panel safety pad .

4. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Detach the claw and remove the wire.

(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors and remove the instrument panel wire from the front passenger airbag.

NOTICE:

When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

(d) Detach the 5 hooks (A).

(e) Detach the 5 hooks (B) and remove the front passenger airbag from the instrument panel.
