Washer Motor Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The windshield wiper ECU receives washer switch information from the front wiper switch, and operates the washer motor.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1.

INSPECT FRONT WASHER MOTOR


(a) Remove the front washer motor WIPER / WASHER: WASHER MOTOR (for Front Side): REMOVAL (2008 LX570) .

(b) Apply battery voltage to the windshield washer motor connector and check the operation of the windshield washer motor.

OK:

Measurement Condition

Specified Condition

Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

Front washer motor operation is normal

OK

2.

INSPECT REAR WASHER MOTOR


(a) Remove the rear washer motor WIPER / WASHER: WASHER MOTOR (for Rear Side): REMOVAL (2008 LX570) .

(b) Apply battery voltage to the windshield washer motor connector and check the operation of the windshield washer motor.

OK:

Measurement Condition

Specified Condition

Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

Rear washer motor operation is normal

OK

3.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT WASHER MOTOR - BATTERY)


(a) Disconnect the front washer motor connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

1 - Body ground

Engine switch on (IG)

11 to 14 V

OK

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR WASHER MOTOR - BATTERY)


(a) Disconnect the rear washer motor connector.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

Tester Connection

1 - Body ground

Engine switch on (IG)

11 to 14 V

OK

5.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH - BODY GROUND)


(a) Disconnect the E15 windshield wiper switch connector.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

E15-2 (EW) - Body ground

Always

Below 1 Ω

OK

6.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT WASHER MOTOR - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH)


(a) Disconnect the E15 windshield wiper switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the washer motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

2 - Body ground

10 kΩ or higher

7.

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR WASHER MOTOR - WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH)


(a) Disconnect the E16 windshield wiper switch connector.

(b) Disconnect the washer motor connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
