OPERATION CHECK
1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT
(a) Check the following indicators and warning lights.

2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER
(a) Using a speedometer tester, check that the speedometer reading is within the allowable range shown in the table below. Also, check for proper operation of the odometer.

NOTICE:
Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires, as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.
(b) Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

3. INSPECT TACHOMETER
(a) Connect a tune-up tachometer and start the engine.
(b) Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

4. INSPECT METER/GAUGE
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Perform Active Test

OK:
Each meter/gauge needle indication is normal.
5. INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Perform Active Test
.
OK:
Each warning/indicator light turns on and off using the Techstream.
6. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL WARNING
(a) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and warm up the engine at an engine speed of 2000 rpm or less until the coolant temperature reaches approximately 80°C (176°F) or more.
(b) Disconnect the engine oil level sensor connector for 40 seconds or more.
(c) Turn the engine switch on (IG) and check the multi-information display.
OK:
Low engine oil level message is displayed.
7. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Perform Active Test
.
HINT:
If this Active Test is being performed and the engine switch is turned off and then on (IG), the A/T and ODO/TRIP display background may turn white. If this occurs, end the Active Test and turn the engine switch off.
OK:
All dots in the multi-information display turn on and off using the Techstream.
