REMOVAL
1. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE
(a) Engine LH Side:
(1) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors.
(2) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors.
(3) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors.
(4) Disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector.
(5) Disconnect the vacuum switching valve connector (for ACIS).
(6) Disconnect the purge VSV connector.
(7) Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
(8) Disconnect the fuel injector connector.
(9) Disconnect the noise filter connector.
(10) Remove the bolt and disconnect the 7 clamps.

(b) Engine RH Side: (1) Disconnect the 2 camshaft timing control valve connectors. (2) Disconnect the 4 ignition coil connectors. (3) Disconnect the 2 VVT sensor connectors. (4) Disconnect the fuel injector connector. (5) Disconnect the noise filter connector. (6) Disconnect the throttle sensor connector. (7) Disconnect the oil pressure sender gauge connector. (8) w/ Oil Level Sensor: Disconnect the oil level sensor connector. (9) Disconnect the 9 clamps. |

(c) Engine Rear Side: (1) Disconnect the 2 air switching valve connectors. (2) Disconnect the 5 clamps. (3) Remove the 3 bolts. |
(d) Remove the engine wire.
2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE COVER
4. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL HOSE
(a) Remove the fuel hose
.
5. DISCONNECT NO. 2 FUEL TUBE
6. DISCONNECT NO. 1 FUEL TUBE
7. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
8. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
9. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY
10. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD

(a) Disconnect the ventilation hose from the ventilation pipe of the cylinder head cover LH and RH. |
|
(b) Disconnect the 2 water by-pass hoses. |
|
(c) Disconnect the No. 1 ventilation hose. |
|
(d) Remove the bolt and wire bracket from the intake manifold. |
|
(e) Remove the 2 nuts, 8 bolts, intake manifold and 2 gaskets. |
11. REMOVE NO. 2 FUEL TUBE
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 2 fuel tube.
12. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TUBE
13. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COVER
14. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER
15. REMOVE NO. 2 WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Oil Cooler)
16. REMOVE NO. 1 WATER BY-PASS HOSE
17. REMOVE FRONT WATER BY-PASS JOINT
18. REMOVE AIR PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 bolts, air pipe and 2 No. 1 air hoses. |
19. REMOVE WATER INLET HOUSING
20. REMOVE WATER BY-PASS PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 bolts and water by-pass pipe.
21. REMOVE AIR SWITCHING VALVE ASSEMBLY
22. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR TUBE
23. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR TUBE
24. REMOVE ENGINE WIRE
(a) Disconnect the 4 knock sensor connectors.
(b) Disconnect the 3 clamps. Then remove the engine wire.
25. REMOVE SEPARATOR CASE

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and separator case. |
26. REMOVE KNOCK SENSOR
|
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 knock sensors. |
27. REMOVE CYLINDER BLOCK WATER DRAIN COCK SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 2 water drain cock plugs from the water drain cocks.
(b) Remove the 2 water drain cocks from the cylinder block.
28. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET RH
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.
29. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET LH
(a) Remove the 4 bolts and mounting bracket.
30. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coils. |
31. REMOVE NOISE FILTER
(a) LH:
Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.
(b) RH:
Remove the bolt and noise filter from the cylinder head cover.
