REMOVAL

Removal / installation


1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE
(Click here)

2. REMOVE MANIFOLD STAY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and manifold stay.


3. REMOVE HV TRANSAXLE MASS DAMPER

    Remove the bolt and transaxle mass damper.


4. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY

  1. A078403E01
    Remove the 2 nuts and separate the engine mounting insulators RH and LH.

  1. A108133
    Remove the nut and separate engine mounting insulator FR.

  1. A108134
    Remove the 2 bolts and separate the engine mounting insulator RR.


5. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH

    Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly LH.

    NOTICE:
    1. Be careful not to damage the transaxle case oil seal and inboard joint boot.
    2. Be careful not to drop the drive shaft assembly.


6. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH

    Using pliers, remove the bearing bracket hole snap ring.

    Remove the bolt from the drive shaft bearing bracket.

    Using SST, remove the front drive shaft assembly RH.

    NOTICE:
    1. Be careful not to damage the transaxle case oil seal and inboard joint boot.
    2. Be careful not to drop the drive shaft assembly.


7. REMOVE FLYWHEEL HOUSING UNDER COVER

    Remove the 2 bolts and flywheel housing under cover.


8. SEPARATE ENGINE WIRE

  1. Remove the bolt and ground wire.

  1. Disconnect the wire harnesses from the clamps.

  1. Disconnect the connectors.

    Remove the 4 bolts and 4 clamps.


9. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CASE COVER

  1. C105751
    Remove the bolt and clamp.

  1. Remove the bolt, clip and case cover from the hybrid transaxle.


10. REMOVE WATER HOSE

  1. C105797
    Disconnect the water hose from the hybrid transaxle.


11. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET FRONT

  1. C105752
    Remove the 3 bolts and engine mounting bracket.


12. REMOVE OIL COOLER INLET TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt and oil cooler tube clamp.

  1. Using SST and a wrench, disconnect the oil cooler inlet tube.

13. REMOVE OIL COOLER OUTLET TUBE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Using SST and a wrench, disconnect the oil cooler outlet tube.

  1. Remove the bolt and oil cooler tube bracket.


14. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET NO.1

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and transmission control cable bracket No.1.


15. REMOVE HYBRID VEHICLE TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

  1. C105753
    Remove the 8 bolts.

  1. Separate and remove the hybrid vehicle transaxle.

    NOTICE:
    Do not pry out the connection between the transaxle assembly and engine more than necessary to prevent the knock pin from being damaged.
