INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CONNECTION CONDITION OF HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR (LOOSENESS AND POOR CONTACT)
Check the connections of all HV control ECU connectors.

- OK:
- Connectors are connected securely and there is no poor connection.

| OK | |
2. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (Rr MOTOR TEMP)
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Rr Motor Temp.
Read the value of "Rr Motor Temp" in the data list displayed on the intelligent tester.
- Result:
A
B
C
Rr MOTOR TEMP (°C)
-50
205
-49 to 204
- HINT:
- If there is an open or +B short circuit, -50°C will be displayed.
- If there is a GND short circuit, 205°C will be displayed.
- If there is an open or +B short circuit, -50°C will be displayed.

3. INSPECT REAR MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR
Disconnect the M10 rear motor temperature sensor connector.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Result:
Tester Connection
Voltage
Proceed to
RMT (M10-1) - RMTG (M10-3)
Approximately 5 V
A
9 to 14V
B
Approximately 0 V

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HV CONTROL ECU - REAR MOTOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
Disconnect the H30 connector from the HV control ECU.

Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Voltage:
Tester Connection
Specified Condition
RMT (M10-1) - Body ground
Approximately 0 V
- NOTICE:
- Turning the ignition switch to the ON position with the HV control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing the inspection.

5. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (Rr MOTOR TEMP)
Using SST, create a short circuit between terminals RMT (H30-21) and RMTG (H30-20 )of the vehicle side connector of the HV control ECU.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Rr Motor Temp.
Read the value of "Rr Motor Temp" displayed on the intelligent tester.

- Standard:
- Displayed temperature is 205°C
- HINT:
- If the intelligent tester shows a temperature of -50°C, check the connection of the HV control ECU. If it is connected normally, replace the HV control ECU.

6. READ VALUE OF INTELLIGENT TESTER (Rr MOTOR TEMP)
Disconnect the M10 rear motor temperature sensor connector.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Rr Motor Temp.
Read the value of "Rr Motor Temp" displayed on the intelligent tester.
- Standard:
- Displayed temperature is -50°C
- HINT:
- The rear motor temperature sensor is not available as a single product. If it requires replacement, replace the rear traction motor w/ transaxle assembly.
