Rear Fog Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The body ECU controls REAR FOG relay when signal is received from the headlight dimmer switch assembly.

WIRING DIAGRAM

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY INTELLIGENT TESTER

1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and press the intelligent tester main switch ON.

3. Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST and then check that the relay operates.

2. INSPECT FUSE

1. Inspect the RR FOG fuse and TAIL fuse in the instrument panel junction block assembly.

NG	REPLACE FUSE

OK

3. INSPECT RELAY

1. Inspect rear fog light relay continuity.

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance:

      Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
      3-5	Always	10 kΩ or higher
      3-5	Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2	Below 1 Ω

2. Inspect tail relay continuity.

   1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Resistance:

      Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
      3-5	Always	10 kΩ or higher
      3-5	Apply B+ between the terminal 1 and 2	Below 1 Ω

NG	REPLACE RELAY

OK

4. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT)

1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Voltage:

   Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
   1A-1 - Body ground	Always	10 to 14 V

   
   

NG	REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK

5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Voltage:

   Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
   1M-8 - Body ground	Always	10 to 14 V
   1H-11 - Body ground	Light control switch OFF → TAIL	Below 1 V → 10 to 14 V

6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BODY ECU - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)

1. Disconnect the B7 connector of the multiplex network body ECU and the 1H connector of the instrument panel junction block assembly.

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Resistance:

Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
B7-9 - 1H-11	Always	Below 1 Ω

NG	REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK

7. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Voltage:

   Tester connection	Condition	Specified condition
   B7-9 - Body ground	Light control switch OFF Rear fog light switch OFF	10 to 14 V
   B7-9 - Body ground	Light control switch HEAD Rear fog light switch ON	Below 1 V
