In fuel injection systems, fuel under high pressure is supplied to the fuel rail and injectors. Because of the high pressure present, it is essential that the pressure be released prior to loosening any connections where fuel flows. If the pressure is not released and a line or fitting is loosened, fuel will leak out the line under pressure, possibly causing serious personal as well as property damage.
