Door Glass and Regulator

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1990–94 Vehicles

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the interior door trim panel and waterproof film.
3. Remove the door belt line inner weather-strip as follows:
   1. Remove the door mounted mirror.
   2. Pry upward and remove the front door inner belt weather-strip from the top of the door panel.

4. Remove the bolts holding the glass to the window regulator. Remove the door window glass.
5. Remove the door glass holder.
6. Remove the mounting bolts and the front door window regulator. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped with power windows.

   To install:

7. Install the window regulator into the door. Connect the electrical harness, if equipped with power windows.
8. Install the regulator retainer bolts and tighten to 3 ft. lbs. (4 Nm).
9. Install the window glass. Install the glass-to-regulator retaining bolts and tighten to 3 ft. lbs. (4 Nm).

   NOTE: Make sure the door glass holders are positioned between the glass and the heads of the retainer bolts. If the holders are not installed, the window glass may crack.

10. Install the front door inner belt weather-strip and related components.
11. Install the door trim panel and waterproof film.
12. Connect the negative battery cable.
13. Check for proper window regulator operation.

1995–98 Vehicles

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the door trim panel and waterproof film.
3. Remove the bolts, then remove the up-stops.
4. Remove the inner stabilizer.
5. Unfasten the retainers, then remove the delta sash.
6. Remove the retaining bolts, then remove the belt line molding.
7. Carefully remove the door window glass.

8. Unfasten the retainers, then remove the window regulator assembly.
9. If equipped, detach the connector, unfasten the retainers and remove the power window motor.
10. If necessary, remove the retainers, then remove the front and rear glass guide tracks.
11. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
