Fenders

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1990–94 Vehicles
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front deck garnish as follows:
    1. Remove the windshield wiper arms.
    2. Remove the mounting bolts and the front deck garnish from the vehicle.
  3. Remove the turn signal lamp and the combination lamp.
  4. Remove the headlamp lower bezel.
  5. Remove the side air dam and air outlet garnish.
  6. Remove the retainer bolts and the front splash shield extension, if equipped.
  7. Remove the retainers and the front splash shield.
  8. Remove the retainer bolts along the upper, lower and rear side of the fender.
  9. Remove the fender from the vehicle.

    To install:

  10. Apply sealant between the fender and the body panels. This will assure that there are no gaps when the fender is mounted. Install the fender to the vehicle and tighten all retainer bolts to 4 ft. lbs. (6 Nm).
  11. Install the fender splash shield and secure in place using retainers.
  12. Install front splash shield extension, if removed.
  13. Install the side air dam, headlamp bezel, front turn signal lamp and the combination lamp.
  14. Install the front deck garnish and wiper arms.
  15. Connect the negative battery cable.
1995–98 Vehicles
  1. From under the vehicle, unfasten the retainers, then remove the undercover splash shield.
  2. Remove the bumper as follows:
    1. Remove the front side marker light.
    2. Remove the retaining bolts, then remove the front bumper center plate.
    3. Unfasten the retainers, then remove the front bumper.

    4. If necessary remove the front bumper corner plate, pad and front fascia bracket.
  3. Remove the retainers, then remove the wheel well splash shield.
  4. Remove the side air dam.
  5. Unfasten the retainers, then remove the front fender panel.
  6. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
