Alternator

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

1.5L, 1.6L, 1.8L, 2.0L and 2.4L Engines

1. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Negative battery cable
   • Left side cover panel under the vehicle
   • Air intake hose, on turbocharged Galant models
   • Drive belts
   • Water pump pulleys
   • Alternator upper bracket/brace
2. On the 1.6L engine remove the battery, windshield washer reservoir and battery tray.
3. On the 1.6L engine, remove the attaching bolts at the top of the radiator and lift up the radiator. Do not disconnect the radiator hoses.
4. Remove or disconnect the following:
   • Alternator wiring connectors
   • Alternator mounting bolts and remove the alternator
